GROENLO – The days of stacks of paper work orders are over at bodywork builder Welgro. This Achterhoek-based company, known for its bulk vehicles for animal feed, flour and powders, is going all in on digitalisation and will open its doors on Tuesday 11 November 2025 for a unique inspiration session. Together with software companies Isah Business Software and PLM Xpert | Data into Knowledge, Welgro B.V. will demonstrate how manufacturers can take their entire operations to a higher level.
Old systems overhauled
With 120 trailers per year, dozens of variants and complete in-house production, Welgro had hit a wall with its old ERP system. Integration? Insufficient. Insight into cost prices? Missing. Paperless working? Impossible. „We didn't want to change everything, but to work smarter,” says director Joël Nijenhuis.
Everything in one system
The goal was clear: to handle the entire processing of a sales order within a single system, gain better control over cost prices, and create a link with PLM Xpert's PLM system. Not a radical revolution, but realistic steps towards a digital future.
Factory tour
During the inspiration session, visitors will get not only theory but above all practice. Employees will explain how the selection of a new ERP system and its integration with the existing PLM solution unfolded, how the implementation was approached, and where the pitfalls lay. A tour of the factory shows how production is increasingly being controlled paperlessly these days.
Honest lessons
„We share not only the successes, but also the bumps in the road,” Nijenhuis emphasises. That is precisely what makes the session interesting for directors, operational managers, engineers and IT professionals in the manufacturing industry who are grappling with digitalisation.
