Jungheinrich has been honoured with an IFOY Award for an automated logistics solution developed for the spare parts operations of Liebherr. The award recognises projects that advance the field of intralogistics.
A demanding starting point
Spare parts logistics comes with particular challenges. Large numbers of orders must be handled within tight time windows, while there is virtually no room for error. This combination of volume, speed and precision made manual or only partially automated processes insufficient.
Fully automated from end to end
The answer is an end-to-end solution in which the entire process runs automatically. At its core is a warehouse management system controlled by artificial intelligence. The system continuously processes operational and process data and turns it into real-time, data-driven decisions.
As a result, the control of orders, stock levels and material flows adapts constantly to the current situation. The system optimises throughput without requiring staff to intervene manually at every step.
Relevance for the manufacturing sector
